Steelbox 3000 Hardware Components

The NMA 3000 features front mounted power buttons, LCD display and controls for network configuration and front mounted USB ports for firmware upgrades. The system features up to 14 Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports ATM via OC-3 or OC-12 expansion cards for connectivity to camera networks, client PC networks, and Steelvault storage units.

The Ethernet ports provide RJ-45 connections. These connectors feature locking mechanisms to prevent the cables from pulling out of the units. Care should be observed when disconnecting Ethernet cables from the ports to prevent damage to the locking mechanism. Category 5e or category 6 cabling should be used to connect the Steelbox NMA to network devices. ATM expansion cards support connectivity to network resources via fiber optic cable.

Dual 110VAC power supplies provide redundant power to the system. In the event of a single fault on a circuit or power supply failure, the unit remains operational. An audible alarm indicates power supply failure. Despite redundancy, it is recommended that a UPS system with surge protection is used to prevent damage to the system from power spikes, brown-outs, or complete power failure.

The NMA 3000 supports up to 500 cameras or 1.5Gbps throughput.
