Steelbox 1250 Hardware Components

The Steelbox NMA 1250 features a power button and indicator lamps on the front panel. 6 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces are featured on the rear panel for connectivity to camera networks, client PC networks, and Steelvault Storage Arrays.

The Ethernet ports provide RJ-45 connections. These connectors feature locking mechanisms to prevent the cables from pulling out of the units. Care should be observed when disconnecting Ethernet cables from the ports to prevent damage to the locking mechanism. Category 5e or category 6 cabling should be used to connect the Steelbox NMA to network devices.

A single power supply connects the NMA 1250 to 110VAC power. It is recommended that a UPS system with surge protection is utilized to prevent damage to the system from power spikes, brown-outs, or complete power failure.

The difference between NMA 1100 and NMA 1250 is the total number of cameras and throughput the units can support. The NMA 1250 is rated to support 250 cameras up to 750Mbps of throughput (250 cameras @ 3Mbps streams).
